Casting Announced for Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning best musical JERSEY BOYS

Playing the Queen Elizabeth Theatre September 5 – 23, 2012

VANCOUVER, August 1, 2012 – Casting has been announced for the Vancouver engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, playing the Queen Elizabeth Theatre September 5-23, 2012.  The cast of JERSEY BOYS will be led by Preston Truman Boyd (Bob Gaudio September 5-9), Miles Jacoby (Bob Gaudio September 11 – 23), Nick Cosgrove (Frankie Valli), John Gardiner (Tommy DeVito) and Michael Lomenda (Nick Massi) and as The Four Seasons, with Jonathan Hadley and Donnie Kehr.

The ensemble of JERSEY BOYS includes John Michael Dias, Christopher DeAngelis, Lauren Decierdo, Frankie J. Galasso, Denise Payne, Mauricio Pérez, Timothy Quinlan, Kyli Rae, John Rochette, Brian Silverman, Kara Tremel, Mark Verdino, Donald Webber, Jr., Kevin Worley and Adam Zelasko.

JERSEY BOYS  is the winner of the 2006 Best Musical Tony Award®, the 2006 Grammy Award® for Best Musical Show Album, the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the 2010 Helpmann Award for Best Musical (Australia). JERSEY BOYS worldwide has been seen by over 15 million people (as of July, 2012).

Directed by two-time Tony® Award-winner Des McAnuff, JERSEY BOYS is written by Academy Award-winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
JERSEY BOYS  is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi.  This is the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time.  They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.

JERSEY BOYS  opened at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway to critical acclaim on November 6, 2005. The JERSEY BOYS First National Tour opened to rave reviews in San Francisco on December 1, 2006, played a record-breaking run in Los Angeles and is still breaking house records in cities across North America. There are six current productions of JERSEY BOYS worldwide: New York; London; Las Vegas; Auckland, New Zealand; and two US National tours.

The JERSEY BOYS design and production team comprises Klara Zieglerova (Scenic Design), Jess Goldstein (Costume Design), Howell Binkley (winner of the 2006 Tony® Award for his Lighting Design of JERSEY BOYS ), Steve Canyon Kennedy (Sound Design), Michael Clark (Projections Design), Charles LaPointe (Wig and Hair Design), Steve Orich (Orchestrations) and Ron Melrose (Music Direction, Vocal Arrangements & Incidental Music).

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of JERSEY BOYS , produced by Bob Gaudio, was recently certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.   The cast recording is now available on Rhino Records. MILES JACOBY (Bob Gaudio September 11 – 23) A Boston native, Miles couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the Jersey Boys national tour! Favorite New York credits: the Drama Desk Nominated New York Premiere of These Seven Sicknesses (Hyllus) at The Flea Theater; Woyzeck (Drum Major); True Love (Edward). Regional: A Streetcar Named Desire (Barrington Stage), Zombies Actually (New Orleans Fringe Festival); Two Slatterns and a King (Williamstown Theater Workshop). Additional favorite roles include Roger in RENT, Floyd Collins in Floyd Collins, and Wolf/Prince in Into the Woods. B.A. Yale University. Before Jersey Boys, John played Timon in the national tour of The Lion King. Regional: Big River, Much Ado About Nothing, Jesus Christ Superstar, A Christmas Carol, The Tempest. Television: All My Children. BFA, Northern Kentucky University. MFA, Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

MICHAEL LOMENDA (Nick Massi) is honored to return to Jersey Boys, having received a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for his “Nick Massi” in Toronto.  Born and raised in rural Stettler, Alberta, Michael graduated Sheridan College's Music Theatre Program.  Favorite credits include: Hairspray (Corny), Grease (Kenickie), Miss Saigon, I Love You, You're Perfect..., Forever Plaid (Smudge), Footloose, A Chorus Line, Cabaret (Cliff), Guys and Dolls, Rocky Horror (Brad).  Michael has worked as a director, music director, arranger, and voice-over artist.
